He has a diverse background in mechanical engineering, design/construction, and real estate, which gives his clients a strategic advantage. Herman’s expertise allows him to leverage all facets of the Real Estate Ecosystem™, helping his clients make sense of its complexity, and drive successful results.
Prior to founding Verity Commercial, Herman was a top producer at Scheer Partners, Inc. He was also one of the first employees, and later a shareholder, of DPR Construction. He helped DPR generate $2 billion in revenue and expand to 15 offices around the country in eight years. He founded DPR’s Fairfax, VA, office and in five years helped it grow from one to 65 employees and build construction volume from $10 million to $115 million. Herman also founded Affiliate Bridge, a successful affiliate marketing internet business.

Ken is a recognized expert in commercial and investment real estate. He is among an elite corps of just 9,000 professionals throughout 30-plus countries who hold the CCIM designation. Ken’s past experiences and knowledge make him an invaluable resource to commercial real estate owners, investors, and users.
He has materially participated in over 500 commercial real estate transactions and brings both a big picture perspective and a hands-on approach to day-to-day operational issues. This experience drives an impressive track record of increasing the profitability of various properties and projects under his stewardship.
Ken has led a team of 15 commercial real estate brokers as vice president and manager for Randall Hagner, the respected Washington, DC-based real estate firm. At Randall Hagner, he was consistently the top producer.
Ken consults in the areas of financial modeling and acquisition evaluation. While with past companies, he advised clients in the areas of acquisition, feasibility, client relations, budgeting, operating expense analysis and control, real estate tax, insurance reviews, capital improvements, equity structuring, lease analysis and market awareness.
In addition to his real estate-related expertise, Ken also possesses a unique blend of entrepreneurial marketing, sales, analytical and operations experience. He developed these skills while serving as vice president of sales and vice president of strategic development at Cadbury Schweppes, Snapple Beverages and Nantucket Nectars.

Skip has more than 25 years of real estate experience in the local markets.
As one of Verity’s principals, he focuses on building the investment/sales/transactional platform for Verity and its clients, maintaining relationships with former clients, and providing operational management support.
Prior to joining Verity Commercial, Skip was executive vice president/ chief operating officer for First Potomac Realty Trust, a publicly traded real estate trust located in Bethesda, Maryland. Skip was responsible for the day-to-day operations, which included leasing, property management, construction, development and marketing for the firm from 1998 through 2013.
In 2003, Skip was involved with the company’s Initial Public Offering. During Skip’s tenure, the company grew from owning less than 1 million sq. ft. to over 14 million sq. ft. of properties located in Baltimore, Suburban Maryland, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, Richmond and Chesapeake. By 2012, under Skip’s direction, First Potomac Realty Trust generated annual leasing revenue over $140 million, executed on an average of over 200 leasing transactions a year ranging from 1,500 sq. ft. to 250,000 sq. ft.

David Miller has been in the construction industry for 32 years and has completed projects in all market sectors including life sciences, healthcare, hospitality, government commercial, mission critical and education. Dave manages the company’s construction services and is also focused on expanding the business practice throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
Dave’s career includes 13 years with Skanska and 13 years with Turner Construction, Inc. He has experience with project management, field supervision, estimating and business development. His focus was on delivering life science, healthcare, commercial and higher education buildings. Dave was instrumental in starting two Skanska USA Building, Inc., offices, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and in Washington, DC/Baltimore. He managed the DC office for more than six years.
Before joining Verity, Dave was the vice president for Coakley & Williams Construction, Inc., where he managed preconstruction services focusing on government, education, commercial, and life science projects.

Barbara Bechtle has over 25 years of diversified commercial real estate brokerage experience in Northern Virginia. Barbara has successfully provided representation for clients in sales and leasing of office, warehouse, retail and land transactions.
Barbara is known as the “condo queen,” selling over 1 million sq. ft. of office condominium space in the past 10 years. She is also a market leader in conversions.

Prior to her seven years at Verity, Ellie Bechtle, along with colleague Barbara Bechtle, was part of the 108-year-old Randall Hagner Company (then called Woodmark Commercial). Ellie works closely with the Owner Occupant and Office Condominium Experts at Verity Commercial. Ellie’s services include the leasing and selling of office, retail and warehouse properties.

Johnny has 10+ years of experience in the commercial real estate industry along with a unique background in project management of IT infrastructure, data centers, and security programs. At Verity, Johnny focuses on landlord and tenant advisory services.
Johnny is experienced in land acquisitioning and developing for data centers, mixed-use, industrial, retail, office, and residential communities. His experience includes like-kind property exchanges. He has sought land and buildings for growing IT /technology businesses and has delivered commercial leasing and sales services to a wide variety of clients. Johnny’s career also includes commercial property developer/manager for local properties such as Lee Square Apartments, Chanel Estates, Cascades Business Center and Loudoun West Data Center.
Prior to joining Verity, Johnny was Executive Vice President of NuVu Real Estate focused on data centers and IT land acquisition, building, and sales and leasing.

Min Choe has 20+ years demonstrated success as a development manager in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. At Verity, he is a senior project manager with civil engineering and construction management experience in commercial buildings and total building renovation development projects. Min has successfully delivered over 1M SF in buildings valued over $280M.
Prior to Verity, Min was VP of Development and Construction at Tetra Partnerships, a real estate developer and property management company. From site plan entitlements to occupancy, he delivered 20+ class “A” office buildings and tenant space, retail, and mixed-use projects in Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and Montgomery Counties. Min also worked for VeriSign as an in-house design and construction manager responsible for building VeriSign’s worldwide office and data center facilities.
His is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) recognized by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Colorado.

Prior to joining Verity, she supported marketing functions for a national architecture, engineering, and consulting firm headquartered in Northern Virginia.

During his career, David managed lease space of up to 4 million-square-feet in 58 buildings throughout Northern Virginia, consisting of multi-story office, single-story office, flex, and industrial. David began his local career 20 years ago at Prince William County Department of Economic Development as Business Development Manager and, prior to joining Verity, he was Director of Leasing at First Potomac Realty Trust.

Mara has over six years of experience in the telecom industry as a marketing and program manager. She has refined communication, customer service, contract negotiation and organizational skills, which she developed at Freddie Mac, Teligent, Inc., and Cable & Wireless.
Mara brings an array of local contacts through her long tenure in the area and involvement in various community volunteer and leadership roles, which is a huge value-add to Verity. In addition, she worked as a researcher and web content writer for Our-Kids.com.
Senior Project Manager
Billy Frye manages development and construction projects for Verity Commercial’s growing project management services. Billy’s construction and project management experience ranges in size and markets across the National Capital Region. He has completed projects ranging from $5 million to over $800 million for clients in the commercial, government, institutional, healthcare, educational, and multifamily residential markets. His management skills include oversight of contractors and design consultants from the preconstruction phase to final completion. Prior to joining Verity Commercial, Billy worked with MGAC, HITT Contracting and Duke Realty. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Virginia Tech.

Prior to that, Bob held management and executive level positions for private development and general contracting companies, including Westbrook Partners, Fremont Properties, Abrams & Associates and OMNI Construction. While at Terrabrook (Westbrook’s affiliate), Bob managed the planning, design, construction and successful delivery of more than 1 million sq. ft. of new office buildings, 730 multi-family units, a restaurant park and major road improvements in the Reston Town Center in a span of just over two years.
Mike Lundy is project manager at Verity Commercial. He has five years of project and construction management experience. During his career, he has worked on mixed-use, multi-family, retail, healthcare, and industrial projects dealing with many aspects of construction including coordination, safety, scheduling, and subcontractor oversight. Mike is currently working on a 336,000-square-feet multi-family residential project in the Ballpark District in Washington, DC. Mike has a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Virginia Tech and is OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health certified.
Sales and Business Development
Charles Mann brings over two decades of sales and business development experience to Verity Commercial. He manages sales and business development efforts related to Verity’s project management, brokerage, and investment services.
His experience includes managing daily operations and business development efforts of his government contracting and marketing business. He also aided in the business development efforts of companies such as University Health System, Alliance Engineers, and the Mechanical Design Group. As a consultant for an MEP engineering firm, he contributed to the firm’s revenue growth of $15-million to over $100-million in three years.
Charles is a former 12-year veteran of the NFL and four-time NFL Pro Bowl Player and proud member of the 70 All-Time Great Washington Redskins. In 2016, Charles graduated magna cum laude from Strayer University with
Henrietta supports Verity Commercial’s diverse team as office manager. Having been with Verity from the beginning, she is knowledgeable with commercial real estate practices. Some of her duties include listing and lease preparation, billing and collection, flyer and eblast creation, and official office baker. Henrietta has her BS and MS in education from Illinois State University with an emphasis in early childhood education, which comes in handy with the team.
