The 6-level precast concrete parking structure was built as part of a phased laboratory facility project to expand Alexandria Real Estate Equities’ health science campus at 9800 Medical Center Drive in the Maryland I-270 Bio-tech corridor. It contains 748 parking spaces including spaces for bicycles and motorcycles and 2 elevators and 2 stairways to provide vertical access to all the parking levels. The garage’s metal panel façade complements the research building and existing campus architecture, as well as screens the view into the parking garage from Shady Grove Road.
