The project consisted of an 87,000-sf laboratory build-out spanning three of four research complexes. The laboratory houses several NIH institutes, including the National Center for Advanced Translational Sciences (NCATS). The buildout was accomplished utilizing intensive BIM modeling, coordinating new construction with critical existing conditions/utilities. At times, minute-by-minute utility shutdown coordination was required to minimize disruption of ongoing cGMP operations of existing tenants. Project was constructed on schedule in 10 months.
